FAQ - Yoga Classes for Beginners

What should I bring to class?

Bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and comfortable clothing that allows for movement. If you don’t have a mat, we have rentals at the studio.

What should I wear to yoga?

Wear breathable, comfortable clothing that allows free movement. Avoid overly loose clothing that may get in the way during poses.

Should I eat before class?

It’s best to avoid heavy meals 1-2 hours before class. A light snack (like fruit or nuts) 30 minutes before can help maintain energy.

How often should I practice yoga?

Start with 1-2 classes per week and build from there. Even 10 minutes a day at home can make a big difference.

What if I have an injury or medical condition?

Let me know before class so I can suggest modifications to keep you safe. Always consult with your doctor before starting a new practice.

Do I need to be flexible to do yoga?

Not at all! Yoga helps improve flexibility over time, so you don’t need to be flexible to start. The practice meets you where you are.

Can beginners join any class, or are there specific beginner-friendly options?

Absolutely! Beginners are welcome in all classes, but I recommend starting with Beginner Flow to learn foundational poses and breathing techniques.

What if I can’t do a pose?

That’s completely okay! Yoga is about listening to your body. I’ll offer modifications for every level, so you can adjust poses to your comfort.

Do I need to sign up in advance?

It depends on the class. Some require pre-registration, while others allow walk-ins. Check the class schedule to see if their is a cost associated with registration, or just ask!
